The winners from five handicap divisions—Bob Neal of Arlington TX, Mark Thomas of Detroit, MI, Eddie Stephens of Wilmette, IL, Ivan Marin of Miami, FL and David Weatherspoon of Arvada, CO—will travel to South Africa for the 17th annual World Golfers Championship at the Fairmont Zimbali Resort in Kwa-Zulu Natal Oct. 29-Nov. 5. The 72-hole competition will be played at the Durban Country Club, the Prince’s Grant Golf Estate, the Umhlali Country Club and the Zimbali Golf Course. Click here for press realease.

Players in the U.S. who would like to have a chance to advance to the 2012 World Golfers Championship . Contact Bengtson at anders@worldgolfersusa.com or 561 313 9083 to. Anyone, male or female, with a handicap of 25 or better can participate.

We are deeply saddened that our founder Mr. Sven Tumba passed away October 1, 2011. In addition to founding World Golfers Championship, Tumba was a three-sport icon, excelling in ice-hockey, soccer and golf. Honored as the best hockey player in Swedish history and later becoming a golf pioneer in his country, founding Scandinavian Enterprise Open, now the Nordea Masters (one of the best attended European Tour events). Tumba also introduced golf to the former Soviet Union, invented the hockey helmet and more (se wiki)

The last 17 years he dedicated to making World Golfers Championship what it is today and the tournament will live on in both his spirit and honor.
